Where pizza meets possibility, and a hundred strangers become the best kind of company.

At Dinner for One Hundred, the only rule is to expect the unexpected. What started as a one-off gathering has become a full-blown movement—bringing people together, breaking bread (or, more often, pizza crust), and proving that the best nights are the ones you don’t overthink.

Now, they’re taking things up a notch with their biggest-ever singles party at Pizzeria Mozza—a night where the dough is hot, the energy is high, and finding ‘the one’ is way less important than finding yourself in the middle of an unforgettable moment.

We caught up with the team to talk legendary pizza nights, unexpected connections, and why a Dinner for One Hundred event is less about matchmaking and more about showing up as your best self.

From Crust to Connection with Dinner for One Hundred

Dinner for One Hundred has built a reputation for creating unforgettable nights with a side of spontaneity. What’s the story behind the name, and how does it reflect your vision for bringing people together?

It all started with a dinner—literally. Our first-ever event was called Dinner for One Hundred, and the name just stuck. From day one, the goal was to get people out of their bubbles and mix all of life’s most interesting characters together at one table. That hasn’t changed. The pandemic may have paused the dinners, but when we came back, we came back swinging. Somewhere along the way, we also built a pizzeria outside Jacob’s mum’s front garden, and now we’ve got three permanent locations where the magic of D4100 lives on. Want to see the vision in action? Pull up a seat at BAR D4100 and take in the chaos—it's just as good as our pop-ups, if not better.

Your pizzeria takeovers are becoming legendary, and now you’re heading to Pizzeria Mozza. What’s the story behind choosing this spot for your singles party?

On a personal level? This is a full-circle moment. Back when Chef’s Table Season 1 dropped, I was a 19-year-old chef pulling back-to-back shifts at Jamie’s Italian, running on zero sleep but completely hooked. Nancy Silvertone’s episode captivated me in going deep into one stream of cooking. Not long after then, I committed to a dough-centred culinary career, and so when this opportunity came up - I had to honour that hungry 19 year old.

For Dinner for One Hundred, it’s simple: we bring people together, and pizza has always been our secret weapon. Our pizza singles nights at BAR D4100 have been wild in the best way, with MacGyver (our star pizza) at the centre of the action. So when the opportunity came up to take that energy to Pizzeria Mozza—a bigger space, a bigger crowd, an absolute icon of a restaurant—there was only one answer.

Your events are anything but ordinary. What’s the secret sauce behind creating singles parties that people can’t stop talking about?

Like every secret sauce we can’t give away the recipe on that one. The best thing to do is go to one and see for yourself!
Valentine’s Day often puts pressure on finding “the one.” How does your event turn that pressure into a playful, unforgettable evening?
You have to find yourself first. A Dinner for One Hundred experience is so silly and easy-going you find yourself leaving more confident. We can’t promise that you’ll find “the one” at our event. But the level-up you gain flexes your muscles to get up and speak to “the one” whenever that moment does come. We’re like a love gym. Everyone should go at least once.

What’s the best or funniest piece of dating advice you’ve ever received or overheard?

Confidence is everything. Every time I’ve found love, it’s been when I felt the most like myself. Figure out what’s blocking your confidence—work on it, but don’t overthink it. Growth is great, but at some point, you have to stop analyzing and just jump. That’s where the real magic happens.
