Treehouse Birds'N'Bees Trail
Explore Treehouse Manchester's Birds’n’Bees bird boxes, an urban wildlife conservation initiative to create sanctuaries where urban wildlife can thrive and grow. Look out for our colourful, up-cycled wooden birdhouses across Manchester which have been installed to provide essential habitats for local wildlife. These stylish and functional little homes, designed to offer essential shelter and nesting spots, are decorated with a splash of eco-friendly paint from Little Greene by renowned local artist, Caroline Dowsett, crafted from up-cycled wood salvaged during the hotel’s construction and decorated with eco-friendly paint from Little Greene.
The Birds’n’Bees trail is on display across the city in nine locations including:
- Castlefield Heritage Park
- St Peter’s Square
- Manchester Cathedral
- Glade of Light, Victoria Street
- Angel Meadow Park
- Mustard Tree, Ancoats
- Thomas Street, Northern Quarter
- Sackville Gardens
- Mayfield Park
The Birds’n’Bees collection features a range of cosy birdhouses designed to safeguard and preserve wildlife, with a special focus on protecting declining bird populations in urban areas. Species such as the flirty Blue Tit, shy Dunnock, secretive Wren, and tiny Goldcrest can find refuge in these homes. The installations also include open nesting boxes for some of the nation’s favourite birds, like the ever-curious Blackbird, the chatty Goldfinch, and the beloved Robin.
